Solidarity Prints

For many the ocean represents a place of joy, a healing place and a playground. Yet for others the sea may be a sad, TRAUMATIZING and even deadly place, when hostile borders, like the EU frontiers, are drawn in the middle of the sea.
Therefore the profit of what we make with our merch goes half to activist groups on Lesvos, supporting people on the move, especially women, non-binary, trans and queer people seeking refuge. The other half supports the Team-Rider spot in our Surf Weeks and Surf Therapy sessions for individuals who are disproportionally affected by systemic oppression, wars and forced migration, gender-based violence or activism burn-out.
diy production
We don’t believe in producing more stuff, even if it’s “fair” or “sustainable”. Instead, we focus on reusing and recycling. Our solidarity prints are created in DIY screen-printing workshops, often together with other Sirens who have been part of our surf weeks or community events.

Danish genbrug culture
We love Danish genbrug stores — second-hand shops for good causes in almost every village. Most of the materials for our prints are sourced from these spaces, giving new life to old textiles.
In this way, our prints support more than one good cause: they contribute to local solidarity economies and get a new life from the Sirens Community.
