We embrace cold waters, misty mornings, grey clouds, pink skies and caramel colored seas. We play in small waves, choppy waves and dance with friendly swells under northern lights. We love fine lines and wrinkles, appearing both in our faces and on the horizon. We celebrate the whole spectrum of boards, bodies, and abilities.

about us

We want to build a welcoming and open surf community where we empower, care about and support each other. We want the community we achieve to live in to be represented in the line-up, which means more diverse in every way!

We are not a normal surf school and do not offer luxury retreats. We have a very individual, and not least feminist, approach. We focus in particular on people for who it is not always easy to find access to surf culture due to gender, age, mental health or mobility restrictions, for example.

With Cold Water Sirens, we want to connect through laughter (and sometimes tears), throw the patriarchy off the cliff and have a good time playing together in the waves!

meet our core crew of salty sirens

Lena

Program Manager, Surf Coach and Surf Therapy Faciliator

I strongly believe in the oceans healing and therapeutic powers, especially when it comes in cold waves. The freezing salty sea challenges me sometimes, but became nevertheless the love of my life. I decided to prioritize it and leave the big city to turn this long distance relationship into a closer one.

More about Lena

I am passionate about sharing this love and to support other sirens on their surf and life journey. I am an ISA certified surf coach with a focus on mental training overcoming fears, insecurities or other blockades. I also hold a certificate as trauma-informed surf therapy faciliator, mental health first aid provider and am constantly working on further training in the field of adaptive surfing.

Anna

Beitske

Surf- and Yoga Coach

I’ve been cruising around this planet for 39 years, mainly along the coasts of it. Being at the ocean just fills me with so much peace and oxygen. And if she provides any waves to play around in: yay!

More about Beitske

A couple of years ago I felt that I need this full time in my life. So I left my laptop job in the humanitarian field and switched to supporting people in surfing and on the yoga mat – and practicing lots myself ☺
I’m trained to teach prana vinyasa yoga (RYS200hrs Glow Yoga Studio Haarlem) and have emerged myself in hatha yoga (Sivananda Ashram) in South India. My classes are usually a creative mix, suiting the vibe of that moment. In surfing my love for long boards has grown a lot – after I got rid of the belief that the ultimate goal should be to surf the shortest board possible.

Josefine

Surf Coach

Water has always been a very important element in my life. Spending time at the beach all year around with my family, going for ice dips, kayaking and finally surfing. I feel a deep connection to water, always looking for it when I go somewhere new. Being close to or in the water calms me down and lifts up my mood.
When I was 19 I started surfing and immediately fell in love with it! Since then I try to spend as much time close to the waves as possible. The Baltic sea, the North sea or the Atlantic: I am in!
To me surfing is very individual, based on your body and mind.
As a surf coach it’s important to me to adapt to the needs of you as a surfer and human being. Not putting pressure on anyone – just let yourself be carried by the energy of the Ocean.
And most of all: to enjoy being in the water!
