06.01.2026 18h – online workshop –
Have you ever wondered why some days bring glassy, perfect peeling waves and on others it’s nothing but the messiest onshore mess? And why some people always seem to know exactly when and where to be?
In this three-part workshop series, we dive deep into the science behind it all and learn how to make sense of what the ocean is doing. Spoiler alert: She often does things completely unexpected and that’s also part of it all!
This introductory workshop gives you a solid foundation in surf forecasting, wave science and spot checking. We explore how waves are created, how swell travels across the ocean, and what factors like wind, fetch, tides and ground swell really mean for surfing.
Perfect for anyone who wants to better understand what’s happening out there before even opening a forecast app.
